So you just landed in the island of Bali and you are looking for a budget accommodation so you can make room for all the other expenses on your holiday. Legian is a great place to stay and finding an accommodation is not too difficult – it is close in proximity to Denpasar Airport as well. Legian is known as the shopper’s paradise with a wide variety of shopping selections. It would be a great choice to stay in Legian to be near the shopping centers, the beaches and as well as the airport. Choosing a budget accommodation in Legian will also leave you more money to shop as well – so who needs a fancy place to stay anyway? The important part of staying at a place is that the personnel at the hostel are friendly and cooperative at your Bali accommodation of choice.

Legian is also sandwiched between Kuta Beach and Seminyak – two famous tourists’ spots in Bali. Legian is also teeming with nightlife and restaurants so you can never go bored with all the places you can visit around the island.

Make Bali part of your around the world escapade and travel on a cruise to Bali from Singapore or from Perth. Singapore and Perth are both tourist destinations and making Bali part of your stop will make any vacation complete. Bali vacations are the choice of many travelers and it’s convenient to get here from Perth or Singapore.

Cruise to Bali from Perth

It would be a great idea to travel to Bali on a cruise by sea as the island paradise offers all the amenities of fun and sun. Bali is known to be the island of the gods and the island boasts the most picturesque settings from rice fields, rice terraces, temples, azure beaches and a tour to the island would be the perfect island getaway. Bali vacations are known for the great surfing as the waves have great breakpoints and swells. Surfers from all over the world troop down to Bali to catch these immense waves for an adrenaline rush. If you were inspired by the book Eat, Pray, Love..take a spiritual journey to Bali and find solace amongst the historic temples in Ubud and cleanse yourself from toxins in their famous rivers. Bali isn’t just about partying – it offers all sorts of activities to satiate all our desires, whether spiritual, or whether you just want to lay back and enjoy the sun.

The best time to cruise to Bali from Perth is during the dry season when it isn’t rainy – and that is from April to November. That timeframe avoids the rainy season and you can enjoy your Bali vacation when the sun is out and the weather is great. It would be best to book a cruise in advanced as this saves money and that way you can reserve the best cabins on the ship. Be sure to get discounts or special promos for the likes of senior citizens or if you are a regular customer for the cruise ship.

Cruise to Bali from Singapore

Cruise to Bali from Singapore – both are popular travel destinations as Singapore is known as a shopping and metropolitan hotspot. So once you have exhausted your tour in the city of Singapore, head on to Bali. Bali is stripped off the urban vibe and what this island has to offer you is their beaches, hot dive spots, fun water activities and their famous historic temples where you can catch the beautiful sunset.

Again, it would be best to take a cruise to Bali from Singapore when the weather isn’t rainy so you can maximize the tour and the views of the island Bali. Plan the trip ahead as this will save you cash as cruise liners offer discounts to early birds and that way you can pick which cabin you prefer. It would be exciting to travel to Bali and plan a cruise when you’re celebrating something with a loved one, it may be your honeymoon or your wedding anniversary.

Planning a cruise to Bali is definitely worth it and will make any tour complete. Bali is a place teeming with life and positive vibe so make a cruise worthwhile and make Bali one of your port stops. Then come back and tell us how Bali changed your life.

When travelling, we look for something different, something new and something we haven’t seen or tried before. As travelers, we look for something visceral that can feed our minds with something unfamiliar – this is what Bali can offer and sightseeing in Bali can give us that experience. There are a lot of things to do in Bali and it would be great if you had a list of the best sightseeing places that the island paradise offers. If you plan on checking in at a hotel, ask the concierge if they provide a travel guide that can take you places, if not, you can also ask them to tell you what places they can recommend for your tour. Here are some of the best sightseeing places in Bali you may want to check out.

The Splendor of Uluwatu

Be at one with the waves and witness the majestic sunset at Uluwatu, Bali. Uluwatu is known to surfers and travelers for its great waves, historic temples and the spectacular view of the sun. Do a bit of sightseeing at the Uluwatu temple located at the Sharp Plateau of Bukit Peninsula Bali and marvel at one of Bali’s oldest temples. Make it point to see the beautiful sunset and bring your camera to capture the moment – your trek to Uluwatu wouldn’t be complete without seeing the Uluwatu sunset.

Catch the Sunset at Tanah Lot

If you can’t get enough of sunset, see another Bali sunset at Tanah Lot. Sightseeing in Bali does not run out so as there is always a beautiful sunset in this island haven. Located in the village of Beraban, Tanah Lot is a place where you’d like to go sightseeing in Bali. These sea temples are built along Bali’s southwestern coast and are considered the most venerated of the temples. Catch a glimpse of the Tanah Lot sunset while being amongst these magical temples.

Sanur Mangrove Center in Bali

For more nature-tripping in Bali, take a morning walk along the boardwalk and see the beauty of nature in the mangroves in sanur which eventually leads to the sea. Be sure to schedule that walk during daytime so you can appreciate the view more.

It is a place to retreat and has a great view of the Ayung River and its valley. The Amandari resort is inspired by the traditional Balinese and is built with native materials by the locals. The best times to go would be from April to October during the dry season.

Sanur is located on the east coast of Bali and compared to Seminyak and Kuta Beach, it is quite laid back. It’s generally a place where you can kick off your shoes and fly a kite – literally! Sanur is a windy and breezy place and is a great place to try kite surfing as well – so get lost with the wind and try this out in Sanur. Dip into the tranquil waters of Sanur – the sea is quite calm so it’s an ideal place to go snorkeling. You can also try surfing in Sanur although its tides don’t produce decent waves but in an area called Sanur Reef, there is a right break where you can try surfing.

If you want to chill back and if you are considering staying in Sanur, book a budget accommodation and get your money’s worth on your Bali holiday. There is always a Bali accommodation that is pocket friendly and you just have to ask around or do the necessary research first before settling in your hostel of choice. Here are a few places that are worth trying.

Top Budget Accommodation in Sanur

• Prima Cottage Hotel

Reviews say that the Prima Cottage Hotel is clean and the staff is friendly. If you are looking for a budget accommodation – these are the two things that you must appreciate. Budget hotels aren’t exactly Conde Nast Award Winning Hotels so the fact that a budget accommodation is clean is something to be appreciative of. Aside from that, it is near the beach, pubs and restaurants so even if you are staying in quiet Sanur, you are never out of the loop of social activities. Beds start at USD12.50 and there is a place for where you can store your luggage for safekeeping – so not bad for a budget accommodation in Sanur! Oh and there’s a swimming pool too!

• Big Pineapple Backpackers Bali

The name sounds fun and it sounds pocket-friendly too! Anywhere you hear and read the word ‘backpackers’ you can count on it – its pocket-friendly. This budget accommodation starts out at $10 a bed. It’s near the main beach in Central Sanur as well as the shopping centers. If you will be spending all day out and about in Sanur, then the Big Pineapple Backpackers Bali is the place for you – all you really needed was the bed right? Two thumbs up for budget accommodation!

• Bali Oasis Bed & Breakfast

The Bali Oasis B&B is not bad for a place that offers beds from USD24 and up. The place offers airport transfers, there’s a swimming pool, air-conditioning, free internet access, cable TV and a whole lot more! Your place to stay is what you make it – and again, it’s not your Conde Nast hotel but it ensures that your stay is five-star.

• Mentari Sanur Hotel

The Mentari Sanur Hotel is just a 3-minute walk away from Sanur Beach and this is key when looking for a place to stay. It must fit the bill and it must be near all the places you want to see. It’s nice to know that this hotel offers a private boat for a tour to Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida Island – but of course this has a price. Ask the reception for details about that. Nevertheless, staying at this budget accommodation saves you money to do other things like shopping, touring and water activities such as kite surfing in Sanur.

Flashbacks was designed and built by Peter, in the style of a Manado house. it has lovely hardwood floors, walls and bamboo / alang-alang roofs.
Take your holiday in Bali to a whole new level and try out scuba diving underwater to witness the unscathed coral reef and the abundance of fish. Diving in Bali is one activity you do not want to miss out on and if you are not a licensed diver, you may want to get your scuba diving permit on the island. There are beaches in Bali that offer diving training so you may want to take advantage of that opportunity. One particular diving school is the Air Diving Academy in Sanur, Bali which guarantees that all their instructors are certified by PADI and have years of diving experience under their belt.

Popular Spots For Scuba Diving in Bali

Here are some of the best diving spots in Bali that you should try. You might also want to check dive the world indonesia website for other diving spots reference.

Menjangan Island

Diving training often includes a dive to premiere dive spots and as mentioned above, the Air Diving Academy offers several drop offs at Menjangan Island if the student is deemed qualified for this dive. Menjangan Peti is one drop off where the dive is not too deep and there is an abundance of coral reefs and fishes like Butterfly fish and Angel fish can be seen. There are other dive spots in Menjangan Island where you can see sharks, a ship wreck and interesting species of fish. Diving is a humbling experience and it reminds you of the creatures that are amongst this earth.

Benoa

Benoa is located in the southern part of Bali and most diving training is conducted here because this is a dive spot that is ideal for beginners as it is near the resorts.

Nusa Penida

Although this dive spot is immensely rich with sea life, it can get quite dangerous because the current can get unpredictable. The dive site spread across the north to the northeast coast of the island and your team leader on your dive team will decide which point would be best to dive. Toyapakeh, Sekola Dasar, Peed Point are just few of the dive spots in Nusa Dua and all of them are rich in marine life and will satisfy every sea explorer’s desires. Nusa Penida is typically for all divers and watch out for the Mola Mola, the reef fish and the Pelagic.

Tulamben Dive Spot

Are you into shipwrecks and did you learn to dive so you can explore them? Then this dive spot in the northeast coast of Bali is the place for you. A USAT Liberty cargo shipwreck is one of the treasure in this divespot. This is a World War II ship and its bottom side is almost 29 meters below, with its topmost portion just 3 meters below the water. This shipwreck was hit by a Japanese torpedo in 1942, all efforts were made to hitch up the ship but failed – the volcanic explosion of Gunung Agung put the shipwreck in its position at present. The shipwreck is interestingly covered in coral and is now home to many fishes. Amazing how the world revolves – one minute a cargo ship and the next minute a house for sea creatures.

One of a Kind Scuba Diving Experience

Diving in Bali is an amazing experience for scuba divers with the courage to go under the sea and explore the world down under. Investing in time and money in proper diving training is worth it just so you can experience diving in Bali. It’s a great pastime and a great release of stress. Have you tried to explore any of Bali’s dive spots? Tell us more about it!

If there is a god for surfing, that god created the island of Bali so perfect that it made the perfect swells for the perfect ride. Yes, that is how strategic this island is for surfing – that even during the rainy season, there are other parts of the island to go surfing. The best part is it isn’t easy to get from one place in the island to the next and you may think is exaggeration – but it’s true that every 5 minutes there is perfect spot to surf. Many travel all the way to this island paradise just to surf in Bali and I don’t think there is a surfer in the world that doesn’t know about Bali.

First Time Surfer in Bali

Kuta Beach

If you are not a hardcore surfer (yet) – Kuta beach offers courses on surfing and you can find a surfing school that can give lessons so you can learn to surf. It isn’t very hard to find someone who can teach you the ropes as there are plenty of locals as well as expats that can share a thing or two about surfing. The Kuta Beach in Bali is just perfect for beginner surfers and Maharanis in Kuta is a great place to catch waves. If that part of the beach is full, you can walk up to Half Way Kuta and discover some rideable waves there. A lot of surfing events take place in Half Way Kuta and lucky you if can watch an even as you can learn to surf while watching.

The only downside to learning surfing in Kuta Beach is the crowd but the bright side is the more you practice in a crowd, the more you’ll learn as other surfers who are watching from afar can give you a tip or two about it.

Intermediate Surfer

Legian & Seminyak Beach

Experienced surfers can try out the waves at Legian and Seminyak beach in Bali as there are a lot of strong rip currents here. It’s best to ride these waves before moving on to more challenging waves. Seminyak is best surfed from mid to high tide and Legian from mid to low tide. Gado-Gado beach in Seminyak is a great place to surf if the waves are lifeless in Kuta and if you want to avoid the crowd. The waves in front Alam Kul Kul hotel in Legian Beach is also a great place to surf and it’s not as crowded as well.

Hardcore Surfer

If you feel that you can move on up and surf along with the pros – there are waves in Bali that offer great challenges. If you should surf over to Legian and Seminyak – there are powerful waves out there that you can face up to. Keep in mind that as you go up north the island, the waves are more powerful and are known to be a little too much for first-timers. So if you don’t want to be pulled out into the sea – know the technicalities in surfing first before mustering the courage to try out these waves.

Canggu & Dreamland Beach

If you feel that Kuta or even Seminyak is not challenging for you anymore – try the waves in Canggu but I must reiterate only if you are ready, the waves are strong out in Canggu. Canggu is best surfed at mid to high tide. Dreamland Beach is another surf spot and waves can reach up to 3 ft high, although the 7 ft high waves can be unpredictable and breakout. Dreamland beach does get crowded but the view is spectacular.

Balian Beach/Medewi

We all value privacy and sometimes we want to lose the crowd so Balian Beach is a great place to surf in Bali – it does not get crowded and you may to choose to keep it secret to have the place to yourself. The place offers waves from 2 to up to 10 ft and is quite consistent too. 20 minutes from Balian Beach is Medewi which is known for its lefts and the waves here are long and mellow.

Padang-padang Beach

This beach is by far the best beach for surfing in Bali. Almost every year there are an international surfing contest held in this very beach. The wave has an average height of 2.5 meter up to 3 meter in the peak season on june to september. You can see in the annual chart about how high is the wave and the temperature of the wave at padang padang beach.

Java – Bali’s neighbor

Ask a pro-surfer who knows Bali about G-Land and he’ll know what you’re talking about. Long, perfect and amazingly consistent – this is what the waves in G-Land are all about – it is the waves of all other waves and is great fun for pro-surfers. Although not in mainland Bali, it is a place worth mentioning. Java is Bali’s northern neighbor and surfers can get there via boat.

More Wave to Surf in Bali

To surf in Bali is a subculture for a certain group of people and these people make the waves look fun. If there is something about Bali is that you can unite your soul with the waves of the sea and have an actual feel of nature. The best time to go surfing in Bali is from May to October during the dry season when the waves are bigger and bolder. You can take a look at the surfing map below to find out other surfing spot in Bali.

When planning a holiday in Bali, you can expect an island paradise of sunshine, awesome food, historic shrines and picturesque views of the majestic Indian Ocean. If you are in search of something different, something you haven’t experienced before – Bali offers just about everything for every traveler. Bali is popular for these attractions and there are a vast number of things to do in Bali so I suggest you shouldn’t miss out on them! If you are the type of tourist who would like to see all the attractions in Bali then book a holiday and see what the Bali tourist attraction is all about.

Popular Tourist Attractions in Bali

Below are 5 among the most popular attractions in Bali which is also the top reason why many travelers prefer to spend their holiday in Bali. Check it out!

Surfing, Water Sport and Swim With the Dolphin at Lovina Beach

The number one reason why many people travel to Bali is the white sandy beach such as Kuta, Nusa Dua, Seminyak, Pecatu, Jimbaran and many more. There are many attractions you can find in the beach, such as surfing, diving, snorkeling, banana boat, jet skiing, parasailing, wind surfing and many more. For beginner it is advisable for you to stay in Kuta and find a local surfing class in the beach.

If you are looking to a more low-key, peaceful place – Lovina is a coastal village that offers this. You may have ‘swim with dolphins’ on your bucket-list and Lovina is just the right place for you because you can experience swimming with dolphins in Lovina. If you are bringing along children, there are trained personnel in the resort who can assist your young ones on one of the many attractions in Bali which is swimming with dolphins. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience you wouldn’t want to miss out on.

Balinese Cultural Ceremony

Bali is a very unique island where the local people still strongly bound with their culture. You can see the synergy of local wisdom with modernism everywhere. There are many religious and cultural ceremony held by the native every month which is really interesting to watch and perhaps be a part of it.

Among the many ceremonies, i strongly suggest you to witness the ‘Ogoh-ogoh’ parade which hold a day before ‘Nyepi’ day; a day where there are no electric, fire and light allowed. On a special occasion, the balinese cremation ceremony is also a big ceremony that is very interesting to see, but you cannot predicted where or when the native will hold the ceremony. There are a lot more interesting ceremonies in Bali that i will write on a special article in the future.

Elephant Show in Bali Elephant Park

If you have been doing your research on Bali, you will know that Uluwatu is home to amazing cliff tops and holy temples. A stay at the Alila Villas in Uluwatu will give you the luxury of staying in a world-class hotel perched on a cliff top with the view of the ocean. Amazed yet? Yes, it’s quite amazing to live a life in luxury.

• Intercontinental Hotel in Bali, Indonesia

The Intercontinental Group of Hotels are in Bali and we all know that they offer world-class service. Located on a stretch of powdery white-sand beaches, this is the place to stay if you want to take your Bali holiday up a notch.

Where to Stay in Bali On a Budget

If you plan to stay in Kuta Beach there is a stretch of Bali accommodation that can cater to your budget. Poppies Lane is popular amongst backpackers and offer rooms for as low as 150,000 rupiah per person, which is only USD16.50 – quite a steal! If you aren’t staying in your room for long periods of time and you’ll only be using it to sleep – then this is the place for you.

If you want to veer away from the beaches and explore temples in Ubud instead, there are villas that offer a USD45 per night deal which is quite a steal as well. It’s almost more than half the price of the accommodations in Kuta, but Ubud is a totally different place – being home to holy temples. It is also important to know that these hotel cottages are inclusive of the use of swimming pools, entitles you to a doctor on call, usage of a safety box. Ask the reception what the daily rates include and get your money’s worth. But still, USD45 is not bad compared to spending USD400 and more on a room that you will barely stay in since you will be touring the island most of the time.

Bali accommodation is generally affordable and there is always a great place to stay without breaking the bank. You just have to check out resorts and hotels online. Websites such as Agoda.Com or Booking.com will provide you with specific information regarding budget hotels – it would be best to check them out.

Choose Your Best Accommodation in Bali

With all these choices, you may be dizzied up with all the hotels and it may be hard to choose where to stay in Bali. But it is rest assured, that no matter where your budget will take you, the Bali experience is made to enthrall every traveler. The best place to stay in Bali is really an objective opinion. Where did you stay in Bali? We’d love to know more about it!
